Heritage includes many things and places that have been, and can be, passed on from one generation to another. These range from historic buildings, public parks, and community oral history to our natural environment and museums

E.g. repairs to buildings or other heritage items, conservation work on land, buying heritage items, land or buildings.

Or actively engage people in heritage activities e.g. offer people opportunities to work with the heritage as volunteers or to participate in exploring and celebrating their local heritage

Getting 13-20 year olds involved in heritage

 

Youth groups

Engage young people in finding out about their heritage, developing skills, building confidence and promoting community involvement. Young Roots projects stem directly from young peoples' interests and ideas, harnessing their creativity and energy and helping them work with others in their local community.

Youth groups must work with a heritage partner
